Arab American Heritage Council

Student must be graduating from high school, parent/guardian must be a member of the AAHC for at least one-year prior to application, the student must be of Arab American heritage.

The Arab Star Scholarships

(The Arab Star, a Dallas based Arab and Muslim newspaper with an estimated readership of 50,000, is offering two annual scholarships to high school or college students who will major in journalism. Each scholarship will Each scholarship will be worth $3,000 per year and it includes work training at The Arab Star.)

F.M. Jabara Scholarship - Polytechnic University

The Jacobs Family Foundation is offering 7 scholarships of $7,000 to $10,000 to individuals of Arab descent to attend Polytechnic University. Awards are renewable annually pending review by the Financial Aid Office.

Greater Detroit Interfaith Roundtable

An annual essay contest sponsored by American Arabic and Jewish Friends. Arab American and Jewish high school juniors and seniors in the Detroit area are paired up to write essays.

The International Institute of Flint

For full-time juniors and seniors at a Michigan college. Studies should focus on international studies, a foreign language, ethnic studies, international communications, or overseas trade.

Lebanese American Heritage Club

The program awards scholarships of $1,000.00 to each selected qualified high school senior or college student as funding allows.

Wayne State University

Scholarships for Arab Americans attending Wayne State as undergraduates. As many as 18 scholarships totaling $14,000 are offered annually.

Yemeni American Association

Approximately 10 one-time scholarships of $1000 for high school seniors of Yemeni heritage.

Yemeni American Benevolent Association

The availability of scholarships varies from year to year. Recently the Association granted scholarships of $1000 each to 11 Yemeni American high school seniors.

American Federation of Ramallah, Palestine

Provides assistance for study in the United States and abroad.

American International Health Council (AIHC)

Offers physicians and medical students from the Arab world clerkships and research opportunities.

AMIDEAST

Arab Student Aid, International

Loans for citizens of Arab countries. Those awarded fellowships must intend to return to an Arab country after completion of their degree.

Bint Jebail Cultural Center

Offers 15 scholarships of $500, mostly to students in Michigan, although others could be considered. Good personal conduct is also a criterion for eligibility.

Hariri Foundation

Supports the academic and technical training of Lebanese scholars in over 32 major fields of study. Thousands of Lebanese have pursued studies in over 300 universities and colleges in the United States and Canada through the active sponsorship by and support of the Hariri Foundation.

Hassan Mustafa Abdallah Memorial Scholarship

National Arab American Medical Association Foundation

The Foundation offers two annual scholarship grants of $1,000 each to qualified students of Arabic extraction enrolled in a U.S. or Canadian medical, osteopathic or dental school.

American University in Beirut

Anthony Parsons Memorial Scholarship

Applicants are invited for postgraduate studies of the Middle East at Exeter University. Awarded annually to a graduate student, Arab or British, who must be prepared to undertake full-time research on an approved Middle East Subject, preferably, but not essentially, for the Degree of M.Phil or PhD.

Barakat Trust and Barakat Foundation

Provides financial support for students and scholars of Islamic culture. Applicants must have completed at least a B.A. degree and have been accepted for graduate study or an apprenticeship at an accredited university or institution. Since part of the available funds are zakat monies, it should be noted that scholarships and research funded by such monies are open only to Muslims.

Chaldean Federation of America

Offers scholarships to 10 students of Chaldean heritage. Funds are from business donations. The amount of the scholarships varies from year to year.

Institute of Banking Studies

Offers scholarships to excellent trainees to complete their studies at an accredited Arab or foreign university.

Jerusalem Fund

This program helps Palestinians living inside Israel.

Karim Rida Said Foundation Scholarships

Offers a number of partial or, exceptionally, full-cost scholarships annually to enable graduates to pursue a course of taught postgraduate study or, exceptionally, of postgraduate research in subjects to be considered on their merits at universities or other institutions in the United Kingdom. The scholarships are open to citizens of member states of the Arab League.

Muslim Women's Association of Washington, DC

Assists any female Muslim student who is full time, has financial need, demonstrates academic ability, enrolls in at least one course of Islamic studies if offered by the university. Priority is given to U.S. residents especially those in the D.C. area.

United Palestinian Appeal

This program is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people, wherever they may be, particularly those living in the Occupied Territories.
